On September 30th the UN Human Rights Committee addressed the Foreign Affairs Ministry of Latvia with the letter notifying on the decision obliging Latvia to refrain from dismantling the monuments to perished soldiers of the anti-Nazi coalition in Riga: on both banks of the Kisezers and in Rumbula.
The communication to the UN Human Rights Committee was done by our deputies in the Riga city council Vladimir Buzaev and Inna Djeri.
Latvia is obliged to meet the commitments undertaken with the ratification of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights.
