On March 4, 2023 the Latvian Russian Union party Congress was held. The following decisions were achieved at it.<\/p>\n
\u2013 TO ESTABLISH THE POLITICAL ASSOTIATION OF PARTIES. Taking into account the necessity to pull together all reasonable political forces as well as to share the positive experience of cooperation, the decision has been taken to establish a new poitical assotiation together with the Centre Party under the name PAMATS. The name of the assotiation contains the first syllables of the words which refer to both the organisational structure and values of the new organisation: Politisk\u0101 Apvien\u012bba Mieram, Aug\u0161upejai, Taisn\u012bgumam un Solidarit\u0101tei (a political union for the sake of peace, spiritual growth, justice and solidarity). The party assotiation is open for joining of other political forces with the aim to create the joint centre-left platform which resurrects the traditions of the politicial assotiation \u201dFor Human Rights in the Unified Latvia\u201d.<\/p>\n
\u2013 FREEDOM TO TATJANA ANDRIJECA! \u00ab\u2026the Congress of the party the Latvian Russian Union considers imprisonment of our comrade and a civil activist Tatjana Andrijeca to be a manifestiation of political pressure towards the Russian-speaking language minority of Latvia imposed by the authorities of the Latvian Republic. In a civilised society it is common to have disputes with political opponents, not to keep them behind bars. We are calling on the national and international human rights and student organisations to support our appeal to the authorities of Latvia to immediately release Tatjana Andrijeca.<\/p>\n
\u2013 THE DEMOLITION OF THE MONUMENT TO PUSHKIN IS A MANIFESTIATION OF THE AGGRESSIVE RUSSOPHOBIA! The party is going to stand up against the plans to demolish the monument, including a rally in the nearest future.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
